BECOMING G’HOST

At its core, G’Host is as compassionate and educated about Behavioral Health and it’s delicate nature as the providers it serves. Founded by J.P. Harrison in 2018, G’Host is a fusion of personal passion, extensive education and quality expertise.

J.P. Harrison’s exploration into technology began as a child, when a family friend noticed his proficiency with computers and taught him how to build one at merely 10 years old.

What began as a healthy escape, has come full circle 20 years later to create a cybersecurity management company that empowers behavioral health care providers to protect patients’ privacy across the nation.

But it wasn’t an easy journey.

At merely 12 years old, J.P. started experimenting with drugs and alcohol and continued into his high school years, leading to him to drop out his senior year. Though a valiant effort was made to begin his technology career through community college courses, alcohol eventually took over his life. At 19 years-old, J.P. sought help, and has remained sober for nearly a decade.

His career in behavioral health began in 2014 at a Wilderness Therapy Program in Southern Utah after completing a two-year teaching program for Wilderness Guiding and Nature-connected Coaching. His wilderness expertise lead to a leadership role where he was exposed to the greater industry of behavioral health. However, in 2017 a motorcycle accident left him with a broken ankle. Unable to continue the wilderness career he had immersed himself in, he journeyed back to technology.

MEETING THE DARK WEB

Within the first few months of his own personal research and training, a colleague approached him about The Dark Web. A client at an inpatient rehabilitation facility had ordered fentanyl, overdosed and died within the treatment center. The devastation served as a turning point for J.P. He knew in that moment that the Behavioral Health community needed more education on cybersecurity.

BUILDING G’HOST

Security is not something that is plugged in, but rather something that grows from attention, research, implementation and testing. The result? In G’Host’s case, a holistic security product that is custom fit for all behavioral health organizations.

“In cybersecurity exists the
Clean-Source Principle: for an object to be secure, all of it’s dependents must be secure as well. The systems to which we offer our attention are dependent on us, so we as operators, must be secure. G’Host makes the emotional and mental health of security operators equally important to the assets they protect.”

– J.P. Harrison, CEO/Founder of G’Host
